"Outgoing Ship"
Instructor: Motoko Hattori
The Ikebana of Keika-Kazan School creates various nature scenes with branches, flowers and pieces of old mulberry wood. The arrangements depict landscapes of flowing streams, steep gorges, deep valleys, waterfalls, seashores, lakesides, and other natural places. In this workshop, you will make an arrangement of an "Outgoing Ship," meaning you will create scenery in the shape of a ship.

The exhibition invites viewers to explore the captivating duality of Sogetsu Ikebana as living scupture and craft practices, highlighting the profound cultural connections woven through these art forms.
Featuring Sogetsu Pittsburgh in collaboration with artists Tadao Arimoto, Yoko Sekino-Bove, Miwa Neishi, and Carol Kumata, presenting work in wood, porcelain, ceramic, and metal.
